Edward Allington (b. 1951) studied at Lancaster College of Art, the Central School of Art and the Royal College of Art.

He was Gregory Fellow at Leeds University (1990-93), Sargant Fellow at the British School of Rome (1996) and has held artist residencies in France, Ireland and the UK.   His work is usually identified with the British object sculptors of the 80s and has exhibited in museums and galleries throughout the world. His work is held in major collections nationally and internationally and he has completed major public commissions in the UK, Germany and France. He is also a regular contributor to art magazines such as Freize. He is currently Head of Graduate Sculpture at the Slade School of Fine Art.

He lives and works in London.
