Sarah Woodfine (b. 1968) studied at Winchester School of Art (1987-88), Liverpool School of Fine Art (1988-91) and Royal Academy Schools, London (1992-95). In 2002 she was the Drawing Artist in Residence at Middlesbrough Art Gallery and was selected for the Pizza Express Prospects 2002 Drawing Prize. In 2004 she was awarded First Prize in The Jerwood Drawing Prize 2004, gaining a further reputation with the national press for her work.

Trained as a sculptor, her practice is now solely concerned with the discipline of drawing. Her drawings have been exhibited widely in Europe, and have been shown at Danielle Arnaud, London and Hales Gallery, London, as well as Galleri F15, Norway and Outline, Amsterdam. Her work is held in the Middlesbrough Art Gallery Drawing Collection and private collections in England, Norway, USA, The Netherlands and Spain.
