Stephen Walter (b.1975) studied at Middlesex University, Manchester Metropolitan University and the Royal College of Art (2001).

He received an award from the Tim Mara Charitable Trust (2001), was awarded the Suny Purchase Travel Award, USA (2001), the Daler Rowney Drawing Prize, RCA, London (2001) and won second prize in The Jerwood Drawing Prize 2004. His solo shows include Photoworks, Deutsche Bank, London (2004-05). Group exhibitions include The Jerwood Drawing prize 2004 (London, Cheltenham, Cardiff, Birmingham, Hull, Salford Quays), The Artist and The City, Spectrum Fine Art, London and 30x30, Vertigo Gallery, London 2004.

He lives and works in London.
